She lived in Des Moines' North of Grand community for twenty-two years and was involved in their original planning process that led to the area’s designated status. She is now a member of the Westwood neighborhood. Her knowledge of the valuation challenges associated with neighborhood revitalization is unmatched in the appraisal community.

Members of the Appraisal Institute are dedicated to serving the public in the highest professional manner possible and must meet stringent ethics requirements that surpass those required for state certification. Reflecting our unbiased and objective approach to real property appraisal and analysis, we are required to adhere to a strictly enforced Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.

Appraisal Experience

Des Moines Real Estate Services appraisal and valuation experience includes:

  • Completion of over 2,700 residential appraisal assignments in the past 10 years more than 50% of these assignments being for homes with historic features and/or in older established neighborhoods.
  • Experience with the appraisal requirements for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) founded in the Economic Recovery Act of 2008.
  • Completion of numerous high profile eminent domain assignments relating to recent road projects and flood buyouts.
  • A trusted partnership with the City of Des Moines working on their community development initiatives in the areas of eminent domain, neighborhood revitalization, lead based paint removal, low rent housing disposition and the identification of gap funding requirements.
  • A trusted partnership with Neighborhood Finance Corporation since 1998, providing extensive experience with assignments requiring an “as is” value coupled with a valuation which includes repairs and improvements.
  • Providing extensive valuation and consulting services to Neighborhood Housing Services of America in 2002 after the Director of the local charter resigned.
